BIRCHBOX: May 2013

This post is so very late...for which I apologize. For those who are still interested, keep reading to find out what I got in this May's Birchbox.

For those of you who might not know, Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that costs $10 per month and each month you get a box in the mail filled with four to five deluxe sized (and sometimes full sized) products ranging from skincare to snacks to makeup to haircare and anything in between.

The theme for the May Birchbox was "Birchbox Beauty Diaries". If you filled out the card (pictured above) the came with your Birchbox and tweeted (via Twitter duh) the picture to Birchbox (@birchbox) then you COULD win a box filled with the full-sized versions of the samples you received in your May Birchbox. I actually thought that was a pretty neat contest, and I liked my samples enough to give it a shot (I didn't win *sadface*). 

NEW! Revlon Super Lustrous "Shine" Lipsticks

On a recent shopping trip to Rite Aid (one of my favorite stores for drugstore makeup), I came across a NEW Revlon lipstick and lipgloss display. If you've been to the drugstore recently, you may have come across this display too. It is a new collection of lipgloss and lipsticks from Revlon.

I'm not much of a lipgloss girl, so I found myself more drawn to the lipsticks. These are in the same packaging as the Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks and that's because they are part of the Super Lustrous line of lipsticks. What is different about these lipsticks is the finish.

It's that time of the month again!! IPSY TIME...that is.

For those who may not have heard of Ipsy Glam Bag, it is a subscription service that costs $10 per month and sends you 4 to 5 products (some full size, some sample size) in a cute makeup bag each month. 

When signing up you take a beauty quiz answering questions about things like your skin tone, what types of makeup you prefer, what brands etc., which helps determine what products you get and what shade of a product you get.

The theme of this month's Ipsy Glam Bag was "Spring Fling". This month my bag came with 5 products and the usual card with discount codes for each brand featured in this month's Glam Bag.

As someone who suffers from dry, peeling, chapped lips on almost a daily basis I have wanted to try this for a good long while. So, since I finished of a few lip balms, I decided to take the plunge and try the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm...

Sleek Blush By 3 Blush Palette in "Lace"

Today's post is about a product that I have been LUSTING after ever since I first heard about it....

The product I'm talking is the Sleek Blush by 3 Palette in "Lace". I am a blush lover. If you gave me $100 and told me that I can go makeup shopping but I can only buy one type of makeup product, I would choose blush! Blushers are just my favorite thing to buy and explore and experiment with. In my opinion, the right shade of blush can pull you whole look together and brighten/light up your face.

Okay, blush rant over (atleast about blush in general). Let's take a closer look at the "Lace" Blush by 3 Palette, shall we?

A little over a week ago I opened my mailbox to find this gorgeous pink box sitting there....MY VERY FIRST BIRCHBOX! Like any other makeup/beauty/skincare sample loving person, I could not wait to rip it open and discover what surprises it held inside.
